Father's Garden
Mixed media, 40 x 20 in, 2026
These three works reflect a personal journey of belonging, transformation, and hope through the lens of faith and migration. As an international student, moving to a new country required me to leave behind familiar places, identities, and ways of seeing the world. In this process, I found myself continually looking back, learning to live in the present, and wondering about the future.

Father’s Garden draws from the story of Eden and reflects on humanity’s earliest relationship with God, inviting questions about trust, choice, and our search for meaning.

Shepherd No.1 and Shepherd No.2, inspired by Psalm 23, emerge from my experience of encountering God in a new environment. Through nature, memory, and spiritual reflection, these works explore restoration, guidance, and the discovery of beauty within uncertainty. Together, the three paintings move between origin, journey, and destination. They speak to the experience of carrying multiple timelines at once: remembering where we came from, navigating who we are becoming, and holding hope for what lies ahead. Through these works, I reflect on how faith has transformed my understanding of the world and my place within it.
